Amen. Well said. Cogent. Insightful. Thought-provoking.
Thank you for graciously welcoming the 44th President of all Americans.
Yes, I'm a first-time visitor.

God might have allowed Mr. Obama to be our next President but it was under stern warning and protest to the contrary and our country will pay a heavy price.
I will pray for him as well as fight against him as hard as I can.
If a person’s words are congruent with their actions, you can believe their words. If however, their words say one thing while their actions say another - never believe their words - always believe their actions.
The Bible puts it another way, "You can discern them by their fruits."
Personally, I would be careful about the phrase "fight against him as hard as I can" for several reasons.
1. We must be careful to guard our own heart. I think bitterness and anger could become weaknesses to a fault in us if we allow our disagreements to turn to hatred.
2. We must be supportive of our leaders when convictions and conscience allow. I would join you in a protest against many soon-to-be presidential policies, but would urge Americans to work together to support positive reforms.
3. As far as "discerning people by their fruits," I understand what you're saying - that we must be wary of those who prove dishonest, but we also must draw the line when we begin to make assessments of the heart beyond what we are allowed. I simply want to reserve judgment.
At the end of the day, we live in Rome, but we live for the Kingdom. Though we ought to stand clearly for truth, we also must seek to be redemptive in our relationship to the world around us.
This Obama is a slick guy. It was at least two years ago, maybe longer, the first time I heard Obama speak, I told some conservative friends; "This guy will be President one day." They laughed at me and said: "no way".
I have heard that you could walk into Hitler's office feeling one way and when you walked out you would be completely turned and convinced you were wrong. The power of persuasion is a powerful thing and it is dangerous to relax one minute when faced with such power. I want my President to be a good speaker, but I don't want him to be so good he can hypnotized the crowds into believing lies. People don't seem to understand the power of personality.
Years ago, when on a self improvement kick, I studied some memory techniques. People were amazed at how I could remember the small details of their lives and family. They started introducing me as a very intelligent person. Brandon, I was the same guy I have always been, but this new technique impressed and deceived people into thinking something different.
Another example... There is a difference between a "loving personality" and a person with the true "love of God" in their hearts. Years ago, when I lived a bit better life than I do now, I was pasturing a small church in south MO. Their was one person who was very well know in the region and thought of as a very loving person. Unfortunately I knew about some very hateful things he had done and was still involved in yet the populous did not know. Now there was another guy who had a very gruff and sharp personality, who probably hurt more than one persons feelings simply because he was so blunt - not because he meat to hurt them. Brandon, many would be surprised to discover this gruff, blunt guy was always the first to visit someone in the hospital, to go out of his way to lead a helping hand. Yes, there is a great difference between someone with true love in their heart and someone who only has a loving personality.
Obama's actions, his voting record, his behavior, his associations, his own writings and even his own words continue to tell us he is a very dangerous leader. And yet his hypnotic personality coupled with our desire to be nice and give him a break (which he is ever so willing to take advantage) leads many to a dangerous relaxation.
Brandon, I know I am not talking about you. One only needs to take a look at your website to see your a very smart, capable and knowledgeable person who will not hastate to denounce error. Jesus did not hastate to denounce error and neither should we. We, in the conservative movement need to join together with one loud voice and say "no" to this deceiver who very soon will be the most powerful man in the world.
I have not read Bernie Goldberg's book, but I love the title: "Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right: How One Side Lost Its Mind and the Other Lost Its Nerve" God grant us courage and wisdom to confront this coming evil embodied in the liberal movement and our next President.
